Multiple Programs, After School Activities, and Boot Camps for Rising Middle through High School Students
Next Steps Youth Lab offers one-on-one and group, mentoring to youth primarily between the ages of 13 and 17. We partner with mentors, volunteers, and business owners to provide the following programs:
Our Mentoring Program matches individual youths with industry-specific mentors for 1:1 sessions and small group activities, focused on building skills, exploring new passions, and supporting mentees through personal hardships. Multiple activities are provided in two-hour sessions occurring throughout the month for the duration of the school year, with field trips and boot camps throughout the summer.
Youth Gun Violence Prevention Program Next Steps to Change engages youth heavily impacted by violence and trauma by connecting them with trauma-informed therapy, providing mindfulness programs and activities to help them develop healthy decision-making skills and help them live safe and successful lives.
Our Bootcamps are accelerated learning camps where participants learn a variety of in-demand skills such as Coding, Software Enhancement, Networking Development, and Video Production. We will also provide boot camps in industries such as financial services, stocks & bitcoin, NFT’s, art, fashion, health, wellness, and beauty. Our Boot Camps range from 1 day to 2 weeks long.
Open to teens and young adults ages 16-24, our Volunteering Program provides volunteer and work-study opportunities for High School and College Credits. Volunteers are placed with our partners such as Little Haiti Optimist Foundation, the La Luchi Foundation, and I am a Scholar as well as with us at Next Steps Youth Lab inside Little Haiti Optimist Foundation’s Youth Center.
